00 2.2Hdi Second hand ECU Recode? - Ade607
Does anybody know if it is possible to recode a second hand ECU for a Peugeot 607 2.2HDi, I know when they are new they have to be coded to the car, does anyone know is this can this be redone on a second hand unit or is it one of those things that once done can't be changed?

Can't get one of those uncoded units for the car apparently as they do not work and the car isn't worth enough to spend out £800 plus £100 for the coding on a brand new one.

I have been offered a recon service, are these worth doing or is it a bit of a con . . .

i did it on my 806 HDI
i got had to desolder a flash memory from my existing ECU and read it with an eprom programmer, then soldered it back in
then i desoldered the same chip from a used ecu and programmed it with the info from mine
now I have two ecus with the same config and immobilizer codes
i can swap between the two whenever I wish
whether this would work on a 607, and which chip it is, I don't know
it was also a bit tricky finding an eprom programmer that could read that particular chip
