My diesel primera engine light comes on engine sometimes cuts out on over-run, starts again if switched off .Also when this happens no feed to fuel pump soliniod untill switched off and on Any help much apr

I do not wish to sadden you but I had similar problems. The local diesel specialist diagnosed defective electronics in the fuel pump. This would entail a pump replacement at around £1,000.00. The pump is of Bosch origin, recons can be found.
Also a point to bear in mind, this engine uses a cam belt. Mine failed with catastrophic results. Not so much from the belt itself but from the failure of a driven part lower down in the engine.
The car had to be scrapped.
