98 1.4 polo electrical meltdown - Red Rose
Please help, My daugters car is an R reg polo 1.4. ( sorry im not sure of the mileage at present, but around 120000) She was happily driving when all the lights on the dash went out. Radio, indicators all ok . It then started to steam and over heat-- no fan working. She has checked the fuses and all is ok. Any help -- please. R/R

have you checked the main fuses on top of the battery.

Yes the recovery man checked the fuses and all appears ok.

My 97 Polo did this in 2001. Damn thing blew its fuses at traffic lights.


It also blew the horn up.


Try replacing all the fuses. They might appear ok but in reality could be cooked.
