03 2.0 auto box safe mode 2.0lx - kenny62
Recently my car has been diagnosed with an electrical fault by the RAC, therefore the gearbox is in safe mode (only second gear is selectable). Any info welcome for best thing to do? To save on expense thanks

Contact a few auto-transmission specialists and get their views - it may only be a solenoid or control-system fault, but Chrysler dealers can be ineffective at diagnosis.

Hi
Did the RAC give you any fault codes? If not turn the ignition on and off 3 times ending with leaving it on. Any fault codes will then be displayed in the milometer it might not so transmission fault code but will show engine codes. Give me the codes and I will tell you that they relate to then at least you will know you are being told BS when you take it in. I can also then tell you if there is any service campaign for the faults you have. Not all Chrysler mechanics are poor at diagnosis.
