My '92 518's rear offside door no longer "centrally locks"; the solenoid doesn't click. I've taken the door panel off (!) and everthing looks intact. Can anyone tell me if there is a relay for the central locking and if so where I can find it?

The most likely problem with this is a knackered motor in that door. The best way to test this is to use a 12v test light or multimeter and check that you are getting power to the motor when you activate the central locking. If there is power there then it is almost certainly the motor thats had it.
