1974 1275cc. Midget - Just Taxed - Ford Dagenham
Hello.

I Taxed the midget on Saturday.

How long does it normally take for them to update the vehicle enquiry website that shows whether a car is taxed.

All help appreciated.

There's a strike at DVLA so if it isn't a software generated fix could be few days.

There's no human input, whether you tax at a PO on on line with DVLA, so the database will update over night.

Even if it hasn't updated, why worry? If you get stopped by an ANPR check, then Plod will see the new disc and let you through.

i meant over 25 ( ahem) arent old cars exempt road tax any more?

The exemption is frozen at 1973. You do still have to get a disc but you don't pay for it, unless there is some sort of admin fee

Hello Folks

Thankyou for your replies.

I didnt know they were on strike.

Wife suggested "Martin it is Sunday they are all at home"

To get free road tax i would have to prove that it was made in 1972.

Civil servants on strike? Good thing we have the BBC to tell us.
