Buying Car parts - LinuxGeek
I got the cam belt changed on my Mazda 323 diesel on this Wednesday and I was quite surprised to find the price differences between different motor factors.
Rang the local Mazda dealer first and I was quoted £70+VAT for just the cam belt. Checked with my local motor factor and they quoted me £51 for the genuine cam belt. Then I rang Euro car parts because I knew they do some parts of Jap cars. I was absolutely shocked when the chap on the phone told me the belt was £28 + VAT and he told me it was OEM and my mechanic told me the same.
It just shows shopping around always makes it well worth the effort and now in the future I know where to get the parts for my car. They sell filters manufactured/labelled nipponparts. Just wanted to share my personal experience with the backroomers.
