Leaking Water pump - £450 inc VAT - Falkirk Bairn
Is that the cost?

Son's car in for a service and he needed the back disks skimmed £50 and a new water pump fitted due to leak ( a known problem apparently)

£450 seems steep - anyone with the same experience?

Don't know if that is the "norm" for Lexus. But it well might be for a premium brand car. However, it is the norm for service dept. to find "skimming" work to earn some bonus.
The way the servicing/mot charges/scams are going, it seems the best bet is to buy a 5 year service inclusive pack and to buy a car with a 5 or 7 year manufacturer backed warranty.

This does seem very steep, however it is a bargain compared the the £400 for the first service on my diesel A4, which is just an oil and filter and pollen filter change.
