Alloy wheel problem? - Martin Wall
The alloys on my car each have a cover over the central hub held in place with a locking screw. When I removed one after a puncture it was covered in sort of crusty white residue. The brake fluid level seems ok. It only seems to be on one wheel - which now seems to be corroding. The others are fine.

I've had this in the past, particularly on the rim where the wheel meets the tyre. In several places, the lacquer lifts off, allowing the alloy to corrode. It's sounds as if one wheel wasn't lacquered properly.

Alloy wheel problem? - Dwight Van Driver
Interesting this as I have the same on SHMBO's XR3i and have put the crud down to age. Have noticed one or two ads that alloys can be refurbished and made like new.
What's involved?
Has any one had this done?
Is it a success long term?
What's the cost?

previous threads have talked about refurbs.
The main thing to remember is to get YOURS doen, not accept a trade in on another set.
fixing badly dinged alloys can really make them very weak, and b***** dangerous!
