2005> New Shape key programming - mfarrow
Hi

Got a new remote off eBay and a new key from Timpson and need to programme them to the car.

How do I do this please? It's the new "W1" blue-chipped key.

Thanks

Hi

Sorry mods ran out of time - I meant the 2005 facelift model as per this subject header.

The vehicle will need to be connected to a wds or ids ford computer as it has to generate an incode which has to be inputted to ford to obtain a code which has to then inputted into the pcm.

Is it given in the handbook - it's about a thousand words to cover both fob and immob.

Unfortunately Screwloose the 1,000 has been shortened to "take it to a Ford dealership". Timpson bloke didn't know this and has phoned me up to tell me to go in for a refund.

I rang up a couple of dealers just now:

One quoted £88 to programme a key, plus the price of a key
Another quoted £110 for a key and programming all in. Deal of the century?

These prices are both for a normal key, not the remote sort.

I wondered why my locksmith makes more wedge than I do - do you think I dropped the wrong half of the business?

Did you work for the Bank of England and have a printing press?
