2006 1.7 diesel. what is the max weight I can tow? - penguin
Hi all I have an 06 vauxhall meriva 1.7diesel. We go camping and are thinking of buying a trailer tent. Can anyone tell me what weight we are able to tow?

According to the handbook (2005 model) "The maximum permitted towing weight is shown on the identification plate"

The VIN plate is either is attached to the right side of the engine compartment, or attached to the right hand front door frame.

Information on identification plate:
1 Manufacturer
2 Type approval number
3 Vehicle identification number
4 Permissible gross vehicle weight
5 Permissible gross train weight
6 Maximum permissible front axle load
7 Maximum permissible rear axle load
8 Vehicle-specific or country-specific data

From the figures posted by DD above, the towing limit is 5 minus 4.
