I have just changed my alternator on my car but now the fan belt is now
squeaking does it need tightening or letting out ?

Needs tightening.
BTW is this the same ZX that had an alternator problem when it was a Rover? Or are both your cars giving you grief?

no both ,mine does 300 miles a week so is a bit knocked about have to get it a service soon ,to much on at work

a new belt might be the way forward on this one

did you overtighten it though so the alternater bearings wil be shot in a month and the alternator man says no its fixer error ;-0
