Heated front screens - Steven Thomas
Ford offer a heated front screen on many of their cars. We have a Fiesta with this option and it is very useful for winter driving. Does anyone know if any other manufacturers offer a similar option? Thanks.

I believe it is patented so others cannot. However, I have also been told the patent os close to expiry.

Does anyone else know more?

The Jaguar XK 8 has a heated front screen.
Re: Heated front screens - CM
Presumably then so do all PAG cars

Brilliant nidea by Ford but a little pointless if you have got a decent blower. I know that on a cold mornng it takes a while to heat up but (reading thru my handbook while taking the Eurotunnel) I found that my car has a separate fuel driven heater for such occasions.

The downside of all this is that when the screen breaks IIRC it is expensive to replace.

My father has an N-reg Laguna estate with one. Not sure whether the current Laguna is so equipped.

The wires in the screen interfere with signals received by your radar detector.
