Fiesta mk 3 grinding noise upon deceler. - milkyjoe
hi, got a high mileage mk 3 fiesta , its been rattling about on this web site for about a year now, currently the rattle has gone to a rumble / grinding upon deceleration but its quiet under load , 130k should i bother with a new timing chain , i dont think its top or bottom end bearings because the oil pressure lamp goes out swiftly , i dont think its clutch related because it bites like a gooden , any advise would be welcome ,thankyou

Could be clutch release bearing,they can last for years like that,is the noise coming from rear of engine?

im not sure , ive had a altrenator go balistic before , think il remove the alt tommorow and see if the noise goes then go from there

Does sound to me like a dry clutch release bearing/ thrust bearing.

thanks, is there a quick fix solution , or just best left alone?
