Have they changed the rules regarding motorists joining a Motorway? Last week went from Edinburgh in my Chevrolet Matiz SE+ " see my other post" during the journey I was cut up numerous times by twits who wanted to get on the Motorways. It was not possible to move lanes!
So have they?

get a bigger car is the answer
small cars are always bullied by bigger ones
thats why my daily user is a transit,i dont bully but i certainly dont get bullied either,
people dont take risks overtaking coming towards me either when they see 2 tonnes of fords finest coming their way

No. Pet peeve of mine too - and of John Peel, gawdrestissoul. What began as a courtesy - moving across to make life easier for the driver joining - has become a near-necessity, as joining drivers make no attempt to adjust their speed or wait for a gap.
For all we say about French drivers - much of it justified - they do this better over there. The sign on the sliproad tells them Cédez le passage and they do.

I don't seem to have this problem on my occasional foray on to the motorway; but then I am usually in my camper which is very large and white, and also weighs 3.5 tons ;-)
I take my cue from lorries which don't move over, only for other lorries

I also don't have this problem in my 4x4 Mercedes ML..... trouble is, when I borrow my daughter's Rover 100, I still drive as if I'm in the 4x4.
Scares hell out of the lorry drivers!
;o)

On a similar note, for those who crave a little excitement stay on the slow lane when passing M4 Jct 18 when heading west. The joining slip road is long, straight and with a goodly downhill gradient. No thought of what might lay ahead, they come down that slip road like bats out of hell. you just do not see the whites of their eyes you can also read the corneas as well. A wonderful start to the day.

It was not possible to move lanes!
But it might have been possible for you to adjust (up or down) your speed slightly.
