Fiat Uno starting - Agemo
Hi!
Would appreciate an opinion on this.
1994 Fiat Uno 1.1ieS
Intermittent fault. Sometimes engine will not start after being run and then standing for a while. Leave for another ten minutes and it starts.
Ocassionally revs drop when idling then it cuts out.
Can run for several days and fault doesn't show.
New petrol pump one year ago.
Recent new distributor cap (electronic ignition).
Just put a new coil on.

Any ideas appreciated!

Coolant sensor a common fault making it too rich to start hot, the stalling if yours has a distributor which I belive it does, (some have coil packs) may have a diaphram failed in the dizzy. when its idling take the small black vacum pipe of the vacum advance unit & if the revs don't change you can bet its failed. You can buy the vacum unit from fiat seperatley about £25. Bit of a fiddle to fit,

Come to think about it I remember now that the electronic ignition can be suspect on these as the wiring deteriorates between the eye & the module. Best bet is next time it doesn't start check for a spark & if no spark fit replacement Dizzy
