Hi. It cranks about 8times from cold before it start and idles at about 500. when it warms up it starts ok but idles at around 650 rpm. Does anyone have any suggestions. thanks

there is an advance device on the front of the diesel pump that fails causing cold running problems. it can be changed in situ. worth speaking to a diesel centre as the last one I did was about 2 years ago. need to check that you haven't got any air leaks in the fuel system especially around the fuel filter. Does it smoke light blue when cold? if it does cold start advance worth looking at, especially if the engine isn't as noisey when cold as you would expect

Thanks for that. it doesn't smoke light blue when cold unless i rev it. Diesel is pretty noisy when cold and as i was saying, idle is realy low.
