Engine noises on 51 corsa c (uk)?
when the engine has warmed up , there is a strange noise which seems to be coming from the offside of the engine. When i switch it off it makes a grrr noise. If anybody has had a similar experience or knows what the noise is, any info would be appreciated or if anybody knows of any uk recalls. i suspect it could be the timing chain but i'm not sure

there is an issue with the timing chains on this vehicle, i am assuming it is a 1 litre/1.2 litre petrol engine, it is not a recall as such but we have been replacing them a lot, if you leave them to long they grind there way through the caseing

Thanks for that! What would you advise me to do from here? It is due for a service at Vauxhall on saturday, should i replace it? How much am i looking at to have a new one?

mention the noise to them let them decide if it is definately the cam chain noisey and i am sure that they would love to give you a quote, and if you are a regular cusyomer then i am sure that you could negotiate a deal !
