Clio 1.4RT heater problems - rad_abz

Hello,

My Girlfriend has problems with her Clio's heating, it didn't all go at once though, setting 1 went first then 2 then it packed in altogether.

I've read somewhere about resistors in the heating circuit, are these easy to get to and is it something I could fix myself. I have checked the fuse and it is fine.

Hi Richard
Easy ,go to renault & ask for a resistor pack & a new plug & terminals ( two different sizes get 6 of each to allow for damage ),the old plug will have melted so you need to cut the old plug off & fit new terminals to wiring loom. Spend a little time making a diagram of which coloured wires go where in relation to the plug. If you can solder it would be wise but use sparingly otherwise you wont get terminals in plug! if braded wires are showing considerable discolouration you may not be able to solder.From memory you need to remove the wiper motor & linkage first to get access.Allow yourself a couple hours and be patient.
