Lucas injector pump leak - pvmw

Advice appreciated! The car is a diesel 1.9 Citroen ZX with the same engine as fitted to Peugeot 405, etc.

Tracing a smell of diesel I've discovered that there is a significant leak apparently from the throttle spindle of the injector pump. There is noticeable play in the spindle and the handbook doesn't describe the internals of the pump, so my question is:-

Before I start pulling things apart is there a seal that is replaceable without having to completely dismantle the pump. I use it daily to get to work and don't want to maroon myself unnecessarily, so I'd like some idea of the potential scale of the problem before I start.

Very common fault. [The second on here this week.] The bearing wears. Contact your local LSUK and buy a new top cover assembly. [Circa £45.]

Just a few screws swaps it over; keep everything clean, just note how the fork fits in and you're done.
