the belt came off yesterday so i fitted another one.
apart from the lack of room it went on.
it seems a bit slack to me,when i rev it you can see the slack(looking from the wheel arch at the bottom of the belt)
how do i tension it?
ps it a non turbo diesel with a/c ,pas

i cant even see if you can wind the alternator out to tension it.strange?

if you look theres a pulley between the crank pullye and the PAS pulley that doesnt drive anything. Loosen the lock nut and wind the tensioner bolt on it. When you know where your looking all will be pretty obvious :D
PS, you need to stick your head underneath to see what I mean.

if ti has a manual tensioner then it should be obvious how to adjust it if you look under the drivers wheel arch, also note only use a decent quality 6mm allen key as the bolts like to round off especially the bottom one. if it's a auto tensioner then you'll need to consult a haynes as i can't remember the process of the top of my head.

thanks for the replies ive had a look in a haynes manual in the shop(save me buying it)
there seems to be 3 different set ups.
the one ive got says use a peugoet tool to turn the tensioner while tightening the allen bolt in place.
ill give it a whirl tomorrow
