Replacement car seats - e.harlow
Has anyone any idea where I can buy replacement seats for my S reg Polo.
I find the seats as fitted to firm.

Not wanting to depress you but you should have realised that by buying a German car you were bound to get firm seats. If you wanted soft seats then you should have bought a Peugeot or Fiat as they stick deckchairs in. I'm sorry but I feel that the only solution will be expensive such as Recaro and not necessarily any softer. Decent seats *should* be firm.

The seats in my father's Fabia seem to be on a par with my wife's Peugeot - although I have not driven the Fabia very far -perhaps cheaper than VWs seats-

I had an 'S' reg Polo and i found the seats to be quite comfy. My 'W' reg Polo (new model) has no height adjustment and i find that i can't get as comfy, i'm hoping that they'll soften up a bit after a few months of use. I also find the backs have a little more padding in them. Still, they're better than Corsa seats, i had two of them and both Polos knock spots off them.

Ash.

Two possibilities come to mind - look for a local VW 'spares' specialist, who may have compatible used seats (depends how fussy you are about appearance), or take the seats to a specialist car upholsterer and have softer foam installed. I guess neither route is particularly cheap.

Swap it for a Rover 400, perhaps not such a good car overall but the seats are marvellous, - We have one as a pool car at work and I can testify that the phrase " Relax - its a Rover " as used in the ads some while ago is appropriate. they are the most comfortable seats I have ever experienced in a small car.
