MoT with missing interior trim - mss1tw
As you may know, I have taken the seats and trim out of my car.

Assuming that I refit the passenger seat and reset the airbag light, will this be MoT worthy? Or does trim need to be present? I certainly hope not.

No trim required.

No trim required.

Or passenger seat. Oh, and the airbag isn't part of the MOT either.

But if the passenger seat is there, then it needs to be securely fixed to the floor.

That's handy! Are you sure about the airbag though? Seems a strange thing to be excluded!

Airbag is not part of test.
Insurance co. may not like it if you get injured in an accident though!

Definately. See The Testers Manual for what is required.

Someone asked a similar question some time ago about removing the rear seats (the dreaded "Showdogs in Transit") and the consensus was they would have to be replaced for the MOT. There has also been a query about de-activating the middle seat, and again, the answer seemed to be that if it was an original seat, it had to be present., with its belt.
