I did a 15 mile journey in my car today to try and get some use out of it and I noticed the speedo was shaking, if I was doing 30 it would range between 28-32 even though my speed was constant. This is worrying as I am learning and I need the speedo to be stable.
Is this an likely to be an easy fix or something I just need to live with? Apart from fixing the temp sender unit the only other thing I have done is put the throttle cable back its retainer clip as it had worked loose.

If its a cable drive likely its got a bit worn and sticky.

What has the throttle cable?

What has, the throttle cable?
No, the speedo cable. It runs from the back of the gearbox and up through the bulkhead to the back of the speedo. Replacement involves removal of the instrument cluster.

Sounds as though the speedo drive in the gearbox is starting to wear. This is sometimes a symptom of the diff bearins starting to wear which causes the diff to tilt slightly which causes the plastic speedo drive to wear
