My otherwise dependable Almera developed a fault today - the fan inside the car only works on full blast, so
0 = 0 (no surprise there)
1-3 = nothing
4 = full blast
Obviously the fan itself still works, so i guess it's not a fuse issue, is there a resistor somewhere that allows you to get the lower speed?
Any ideas greatly appreciated
TIA

It will be the rheostat (Variable resistor) in most cases.
I have similar on my Honda (It is £27 for Honda & will be fixed when the service is done this month) probably much the same for a Nissan?

Yes, its the resistor back (which is mounted close by the motor). They are around £30 IIRC. Dead easy to change yourself, if so inclined.

Thanks guys.
Aprilia, i don't have a Haynes manual (never needed one for this car): where is the motor and resistor? Is this a three handed job under the dash?
Thanks

If it is anything like the Primera or Micra very easy 5 min job.
It will be in the front corner of the passenger footwell.
Easily remove by kneeling by the side of the car.
Unplug the multiway connector by squeezing the tab
2 x10mm??/crosshead screws
Micra cost £25, Primera £35
The design is different and I would suspect that it is age/use related, so a breakers may not be economical.
Ask for a heater motor resistor.
