Passed a transit this morning with a six numeral (no letters) number plate.
Not a J..... just six numbers in a single block.
Anyone know what it is?

Six numbers? I remember Guernsey plates were - maybe still are - five digits without a letter. Perhaps they ran out of five-digit numbers and had to go to six. Were the plates themselves otherwise UK-pattern - i.e. white front, yellow rear with the familiar typeface?

Could be US Armed Forces perhaps - I've seen these in Suffolk before now on what were clearly their vehicles.

Yes certainly to date, GBG plates are five or less digits
Google Guernsey Number Plates and select images will give you good examples.
Perhaps they ran out of five-digit numbers and had to go to six.
It is only a little place

No GBG or GBJ plate, didn't see the front, the rear was standard orange with six numbers.
