Micra rear washer - Spospe

My daughter has just bought a 1999 Nisan Micra Inspiration, which is fitted with a rear wash / wipe. The car was supplied without a handbook and we are having a silly problem, namely we cannot figure out how to get the rear washer to squirt water!

The rear wiper works perfectly, but neither of us can see any indication on the steering column mounted control as to how to make the rear washer squirt water. I feel stupid asking this, but can anyone who has a Micra please tell me how to operate the rear washer? (the front washer / wiper works perfectly and it is quite obvious as to how to use it).

Micra rear washer - bell boy

Doesnt the stalk twist slightly to achieve this, about an inch from the end.

We have just been given the answer, which is that the stalk is pushed forwards towards the dashboard and this operates the rear washer. The action is rather like switching between main beam and dip on the headlight stalk (the end of the stalk does not twist at all).

Happy Christmas (we are about to start our cooking for this evenings feast).
