Kia Rio Service Problem! - glenco999
I took my Rio into the local dealer for its first service and I noticed when I collected it that the odometer was reading 0. When I challenged the dealership they told me that the odometer was faulty and they had had to replace it. I was told that the original milage was now stored on a chip? Does this sound right considering everything was fine when it went in to be serviced? Also is this going to have an affect when it comes to selling/ trading in the car? Any help would be appreciated.

Stored on a chip where? How many miles have gone missing? SFAIK they should be able to either set the replacement one to the old one's mileage or give you a letter saying that on a date the car had the odometer replaced as a result of which the recorded mileage is ?????? under the real one.

As AS says above you can set digital milometers to any mileage you want ,they are just to lazy to do it having probably damaged the old themselves.Take it back and demand they put it right.
