You can still buy it, but IIRC the tin is now a different colour, so dating could be a problem.

there's a code on the side ending 1000/1/32 . Would that be a date code ? I can imagine my dad using it in the 1950's but not 20 years prior to that.
I've got a kilogram of copper grease that at present usage rate will take me to year 3000 at least.

My dad had a tin like that, in a very similar condition! I'd guess 50's as that's when Dad was working on cars & bikes.
