Has anyone direct experience of ABS failure on a Xantia, i.e. the warning lamp staying on. It is said that the ECU will be faulty on the earlier cars but I would like to hear exactly what failed on yours.

I've had the ABS light staying on on my XM, but it was just dirty connections on the sensor.
I suppose you could always check for a false alarm by finding somewhere safe and deserted and stamping on the brakes!!
Moral - check the cheap things first.
