A recent report... here:

ranked 50 towns and cities from best to worst in terms of 'car-friendliness'. How did you fare?
Let's all avoid Cardiff and head for Dundee :D)

My home town is Edinburgh and I was intrigued to find out it is car friendly
It is not for want of trying on the councils part
|
i read in the telegraph not so long ago that the drivers there ignored the no entry signs and carried on as it was pre congestion.... ing i was up there about 4 weeks ago and have to say sensible drivers and a nice city....loved the art gallery

You are correct. There was one street in particular where the locals had to do a huge detour and so gave up and drove through the no entry sign anyway.
The urban myth is that the council is getting its revenge over the congestion charging fiasco and are currently clogging up two adjacant routes that take you westwards from the inner suburbs
What about your town oldman ?

Strangely enough my home town, Southend, is fifth and I've not really rhought of it as particularly car friendly.
In fact I've recently been to Cardiff and Oxford. Thought Oxford wasn't particularly friendly but Cardiff no worse, or better than home.
You pays your money and takes your choice....
