306 td exhaust - scfc_151
If i had an exhaust blowing where it joins the cat would that cause a loss in torque? The power is ok but it feels like the torque has gone when the turbo kicks in

I dont know your car,but exhaust blow should not affect performance, apart from hearing the turbo whistle just after tickover and noise increase till around 2000 rpm, when it should die off.
any one that knows this car may correct me if wrong??

The only exhaust blow that would affect performance would be be one before the turbo.

My 306TD needed a new exhaust gasket for its MOT last year as it was said to be "blowing like a.....(shan't say!)". Never noticed any drop in performance because of the blow.

where abouts would this be located? I can here a low sounding noise comming from the front end when the turbo is kicking in. It does sound like an exhaust blowing. Its lost the torque it use to have but the power is fine if that makes sense
