Just for fun, in top gear style. I was wondering what ist he cheapest you guys reckon you could get a decent under 190 year old sports coupe?
And for the hard part, it mustnt! fall apart after a few miles drive!

Oddly enough I think it wd have to be one of those Mini or Metro-based plastic thingies, GTM or similar, find them on EBAY fairly cheap. Probably better value and longer lasting than blinged-up repboxes from mainstream manufacturers, but at the cost of some ongoing maintenance.

I think my mum had one of those metro thingys. Horrible little red thing with huge spotlights on. God, i remember at the time i thought it was actually ok!

Hyundai Coupe in AutoTrader P Reg £1,450 or
1997 ROVER COUPE 1.6 SE for £670 (94k) or
1996 FORD PROBE 2.0i 16V for £725.
No guarantee that these would n't fall apart but as the Rover is essentially a Honda could be worth a go. Of course the researchers at Top Gear deliberately chose a car that will fall apart as better TV.

Although based, IIRC, on the Mazda 626, the Probe wasn't a particularly good car.
What's more the front seats were awful.

I always thought it was just a rebadged mazda.

Isn't that what I pointed out?

I think it was the MX-6 rather than the 626.

How about an MX6 then? The car the Probe was based on without the unfortunate image. A colleague tells me the V6 is superb, if a little thirsty.

Calibra's are always cheap.
