Im in need of some new blades and have always used bosch super on my 306. Just wondered what peoples opinions are of the best wipers for cost and quality?
I notice the bosch dont fit perfectly on the edge of the screen but i can get them for £4 each at my local auto shop. Stick with these or go for something else?

Buy direct from Peugeot, then you're guaranteed the right blades for the car.

That ought to be true, and probably is for the 306, which with the 205 represented Peugeot's best efforts.
It wasn't true of the ghastly 206 that SWMBO had - not only were the wipers set up for LHD, but the (original equipment) driver's side wiper didn't curve round with the screen at the bottom few inches of its travel, leaving even more of an unwiped area. Driving it in rain was like looking out of the side of a Norman arch.
The 205 and I think the 306 have them correctly converted for RHD.

Bosch - every time. I was really surprised with my Honda Accord to find that the genuine 'Honda' blades (Valeo, I suspect) are very poor compared with Bosch. I won't let my Honda dealer fit 'genuine' blades now: I go to Halfords and buy a set of Bosch when I need them.
Maybe Peugeot does something better - but I doubt it.

Genuine spares ~ every time.
I have Bosch (from Halfords) on my 03/03 Focus and they're rubbish. I had to cut some off the inner ends of the fronts to stop them clashing in the parked position, and the rear blade doesn't touch the screen for about 2 cm at both ends of the blade when in mid-stroke. Never again. (And before anyone queries whether they were the right ones, they were as detailed in the Bosch application chart.) Since fitting them I've enquired about the price of genuine spares from my local Ford dealer and it is within a few pence of Halfords price for Bosch.

Peugeot use Valeo don't they?
See if you can get Vale somewhere else if the dealer is expensive.

Wiper high speed or car high speed?

German, Swedish and French Car Spare Parts supplies Bosch, Valeo and Paul Journee wiper blades.
It specialises in manufacturers' OEM spare parts at considerably less cost than main dealerships:

Car high speed. Since the blades coat the screen with silicone, you find that it repels much more water than normal, and particulary becomes noticeable when driving on motorways in wet weather.

Bought a set of Bosch Super Plus off Ebay and can't fault them, except maybe for the price.

i purchased some bosch supers last year of ebay, cost £13 delivered.
They were 1x 24" Bosch super with spoiler, 1x 20" Bosch super, no spoiler.
Good wipers, good price

Well I bought some from Tescos but they weren't very good, squeaking and smearing their way across my screen, so I called in at Ford today and picked up an OEM pair for £17, I've no doubt they will be much better when I actually use them!

I prefer Champion myself, compared to Bosch, although Bosch have a good name.
Try a search on ebay to see what's avaiable there.

I asked a similar question a few weeks back and after a bit of research realised that the dealer supplied Skoda ones were more or less the same money as Bosch/Halfords/etc.
Decided that if they were good enough for the car when it was built, they'd be good enough now! Got them and they're working fine.

This subject has been covered many times before if you do a search.
My advice would be to buy Bosch or main dealer depending on what's cheapest. I've always bought Bosch in the past but this time I got replacements for my Vectra from Vauxhall (GM branded) at £17 a pair compared to £22 for Bosch at Halfords. The GM blades are excellent performance wise, my only gripe is the plastic blade ends and plastic clip on spoiler - Bosch are all metal construction.
I certainly wouldn't entertain Halfords own brand wipers.

For the interest of others, I bought Some BOSCH aerotwin ones

and they are noisy when they change direction, a sort of thuck sound, they also so it on VWs and Nissans I have been in where they are original fit. Avoid yaar.

You're lucky to have anything at the ends of the blades. The blade carrier* of my 5 month old Bosch Super Plus is just crimped around the blade near one end. It's a similar construction method to that used in tin toys yonks ago. And a good deburring of the whole carrier* assembly wouldn't have gone amiss!
*Anybody knpow the correct name for what I call the blade carrier?

L'escargot - I remember replying to your original post about your Bosch blades months ago. I still don't really understand what happened there. All the Bosch blades I have bought over the years have been excellent in terms of quality, fit and performance.
Maybe they've changed the design/construction recently and I haven't seen a "new" pair yet, but I picked up a set for SWMBO's Toyota last Autumn and they were still the same high quality items that they've always been.
Were yours counterfeits from a car boot sale or something?!
