Hi all, my wifes 1997 carina e recently failed it mot due to a loose front wheel bearing.
I checked wheel and there is very slight movement when rocked at the 6 oclock and 12 oclock positions.
Is replacement a difficult job or can i just try retighten the hub nut , which btw is very tight as it is.
Any advice on pitfalls, special tools etc greatly appreciated.

No the hub nut does not adjust the bearing it holds the drive shaft in the hub assembly. This may be a press job on this model so try an independant garage. Regards Peter
