I intend to change the pads on my niece's car at the weekend. Any special tools/hints required?

The 'special' tool is 7mm Allen key to remove the caliper bolts.

ive not worked on a 05 corsa but my advise is do NOT push the pistons back without opening the bleed nipple as you may flip the seals in the master skilinder

Your correct in saying open the bleed nipple whilst pushing the piston back in, but i always thought it was to stop any damage to the ABS pump ?, i may be wrong.

2005 Corsa and new brake pads! Does it need them or is it a cosmetic change? Seems a bit too soon for the car to require them, unless she does starship mileages.

The Vauxhall garage that sold us a 1.2 04 plate last April actually put new pads on for the sale (20k miles on clock). The new ones tend to 'whistle' when the car is in motion, the noise goes under braking. I took them out and put more copperslip on but no change. Perhaps I should have filed off the edges? Any clues please anyone?
