1.6 Zetec creaking front suspension - toolslinger

i have a 2002 1.6 zetec,yesterday after a four hour moterway run my front suspension is making a horrible creaking noise.went out this morning not a sound.a friend at work thinks it is anti roll bar linkages or suspension bushes.if this is the problem is it best to change both sides,or just the offending one.any thoughts.

Could be just dry, a silicone spray would do the trick though DONT get it on the tyres or brakes!!!!!!

I would also check for a broken front spring, as it is not unknown for this to happen on Foci.
