skoda fabia 1.9tdi 2003 - daffyd
How long does this engine need to run with non pd oil for damage to be done (& what would the damage be)? Skoda serviced the car in September but the receipt showed normal oil being used. i noticed the mistake the day after and they changed the oil within 100miles. they also insisted that the receipt had been filled in incorrectly and that pd oil had been used (i wasn't so sure and insisted on the oil change). Worst still the service desk initially tried to blag it and insist the engine didn't need pd oil! It was only when i escalated my concerns to the service mgr that they admitted fault. Cheers. D.

Ouch!

You're likely to have caused irrepairable damage to the engine, the instant it was started.

Furthermore, the gearbox will now probably fail in the next week or so out of sympathy for the engine, the electrics will explode and the wheels will lose their shape and become square.

Seriously - no problem at all given the low mileage covered.

100 miles only

Don't think the engine would have suffered any ill effects as it was still been lubricated.
Not worth worrying over the matter.
