Toyota Avensis Oil Use Problem - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}
My neighbour bought an almost new old model petrol Avensis.So 4 ish years old now?
Having an engine rebuild under warranty due to high oil consumption.1000miles per litre roughly.
He says a new engine block has now been ordered! Is this a known problem?
Anyway, shows that Toyota take warranty claims seriously!
And he's got an Aygo on loan.

Toyota Avensis Oil Use Problem - lordy
I had this model Avensis before changing to my Accord Tourer late last year. Never had any problems with it at all. I never heard of any such problems either.

I remember talking to the service manager about warranty work, he informed me that they would still carry out warranty work long after the three years were up as long as the car was serviced at the correct intervals and showed no obvious signs of abuse.

Reputation and goodwill to the customer were more important than arguing the toss over a few relatively minor problems.

Just seen on HJ car by car breakdown that engine warranty on the VVTI was extended to 5 years because of this problem.
If only every manufacturer gave a five year warranty.
