Build quality new Lexus IS250 - alapppy
After 15 years of driving only Mercs I decided to have a change. Tried the IS250 and was impressed with the engine , drive etc. Well after 3 weeks the bloom has worn off...rattles from doors( the first one started within 3 miles of the showroom) and now the dash as well.

After all the praise and JD power ratings is this a one off or is the baby lexus being built to price..?


Anyone else had the same problems with this model ..

I have worked on and driven MB's for 25+ years. I don't have as much experience of Lexus, but from my limited experience of them they are as well built, if not better, than recent MB's. Certainly the paintwork and electroncis seem better.

I must admit I had an old shape IS200 and I didn't like the car at all but for different reasons. My IS had no rattles at all, but had major transmission problems, as well as the poor performance and heavy drinking problems.

I would not worry - just a bit of bad luck in the first few days
It will be OK for the next few years
