Hi.

Try a universal sensor from: www.justlambda.co.uk/

a word of warning with a universal lambda you have to chop the wires and join them, the problem is the wire is very hard to strip of its sheaffing and then it will not solder so the only solution is to use crimps or cheeseblock,if you dont make these joins good then the lambda wont work properly. The other thing to bear in mind is on an escort the cabling is very long and the new universal wire is usually long and they dont get trimmed down ,ideally the new length cable should be the same as the original.
Finally i assume you are fitting a new lambda to get an emmissions mot test be warned that escorts arent the easiest to pass and it could be wiser to fit an oe part with correct end already fitted,im sure any decent motor trade factor could sort you one out at a lesser price than a dealer?

You are frightening me. How much are the beastly things?

i pay £36 for universal ones but have the facilities to make sure they are working 100% correctly before they go for mot,my feeling for a good make, "fit and go" would be less than £80 from a factor.

Phew. Not the end of the world then. Shows the sort of cars I've been running though, innit? :o)
