Hi all
My Laguna, has devloped a really annoying fault werebuy the "SERV" light and the ABS light will come on together (how its meant to) at intermitanly, or will not go out on startup, or it will be absolutly fine for a ciple of days, it may then just flash on for a coplue of senconds, or stay on for a couple of days.
Its been back to the Garage , now three times, where when i get back it will be fine for a couple of days, and then play up again.
They have replaced a sensor, reset the ECU, thankfully its not costing me anything, until the warranty runs out, annoyingly its always fine, when i take it to the garage.
The garage is a independat garage who i trust completly as i have bought a few cars from, they took it to a specialist today, who again reset the ECU, went to pick it up , drove out the doors ......SERV and ABS Light came on, so i reversed it back in.
Can anyone cast any light on this, its soo frustrating

Get the alternator tested.

As implied above I would first of all suspect a voltage problem. Either too many volts (faulty alternator) or an earthing problem. Get a logging DMM on the supply line to the ABS unit and monitor what happens.

Digital MultiMeter. I imagine it will show them if any power is going between the ABS unit and Monitor but I'm as much a mechanic as I am a brain surgeon so I could be wrong.

Digital multimeter. Shows the voltage. The logging one was suggested as it will capture spikes or droputs in memory.
