Chinese Coal in the Greenhouse - Brian
There is an article in today's Telegraph (page20) stating that China not only consumes one billion tons of coal per year, but a further "between 10 million and 200 million" tons are lost in fires in the mining areas and the deserts. Some fires have been burning out of control for 150 years.
The greenhouse gas output from these fires is estimated to be more than that from all the cars in Germany added together.

I thought their speciality was dog.
Although, come to think of it a certain restaurant in Romford, many years ago, was found to have a freezer full of moggies. (= car type slang = motoring connection!)
