Tried without success to find an independent specialising in VW servicing in the Buxton/Chesterfield area.
Nearest I could find was a chap in Warwickshire who will do 80k Passat diesel service for £150 rather than the £280 my local main dealer wants.

Who is the chap in Warwicks, you could always go for a pub meal or a walk while it is serviced.

Might think about taking a day- but annual leave is pretty well booked for the year.
Usual experience of other garages has been can't get parts/we've a problem, can you come back tomorrow? Hence my current practice of holding a loan car as a hostage!

Have used MidlandVW just off A5 near Cannock - very good service and prices good too. They really seemed to know what they are talking about!

JBS Auto Designs in Chesterfield are a VAG tuning specialist and appear to have a very good reputation for servicing. They are on 01246 455 005 - I am not connected to them but they remapped my car and the service was exceptional. If you have a local Skoda dealer, try them for a quote as they will definitely be less than a VW agent and in my experience do a better job.
