Renault Espace IV battery going flat - Craig_1969
The battery (French make Dauphin) keeps going flat on my 2003 new shape Espace. There are no interior lights on.

I can trickle charge it no problem and the car starts fine for a few days, then the battery goes flat after a couple of days. I have tried to jump start it with no success when the battery is dead.

The battery is 2 1/2 years old, is it likely to have failed? The very cold snap seemed to affect the battery in particular.

I suppose the alternative would be a faulty alternator.

Yes I know it was voted the most unreliable car by JD Power.

I was planning on getting a Bosch battery to replace it, I trust German quality more than French.

You need to get an auto electrican to check it through. Putting a new battery on may not be the solution. You need to fix the cause, not the symptom. There may be something else draining the battery.
