Responding to changes in conditions. - Bill Payer
There have been a couple of threads recenty from people who have noticed a lack of grip in their tyres over the last few weeks.
Has the general public's driving capability really reached such a low that they can't recognise and respond to changes in driving conditions without having to be guided by an internet forum?

Perhaps all the electronics in modern cars is to blame, so that people who've never driven a RWD car on cross ply tyres expect the car to be able to take care of them whatever happens.

Whether or not you were thinking of me Bill, I have now ruled out a tyre/road surface problem.

I may have been driving only a short time but I know how to drive in Winter.

P.S. - My car doesn't have ABS, TC or any other electronic tomfoolery.

Have to say I have not noticed a change, but then I have been errrr Experimenting handling traits ina variety of cars.

The touran can be kicked into a delicious full 4 wheel opposite lock sideways drift and pulled out again at will. Impressive for a Van!
