a friend of mine told me his brother had water in his fuel filter on his car. the dealer told him sometimes you can fill up at supermarkets and have this problem he filled up at tesco. do they use the cheapest petrol around and dont check there tanks for water.

Given the throughput of fuel at most supermarket sites I suspect that you are less likely to pick up water than at most petrol stations.

You're bound to get some water in a tank at sometime, nothing can be 100% sealed from the elements.

was a good thread about getting water out of the tank using isopropyl, if your mate's worried about it rusting.
