Audi vs VW vs SEAT - Martin Wall
Had a look at an Audi A3 the other day - nice car but SO damned expensive - about 16K for a small hatchback! Makes the Golf and the even cheaper Leon seem like great value. How does VAG get away with such a wide discrepancy for more or less the same car with differnt badges?

btw- anybody out there got first hand experience of a Leon - reliability, running costs etc.?

...bad form to follow up my own post but I also saw an Audi A2 at the dealer's - it looks a bit too futuristic if you ask me. Does it hold its value well? (I haven't seen many on the roads...)

A2 holds its value very well. See ?16k mile report of longterm test A2 in this week's Autocar. I think they said that there are only about 8000 in the UK, compared to about 70000 A class, so they are in short supply, so hold their value well.

Might be worth considering an early A140 Elegance.

Why go for a used A140 when for the same money you can have a new Honda Jazz, which is a better handling, more reliable, better built car in the first place.
