I can't understand that list. As a manufacturer Mazda comes 2nd to Honda (after a few years at the top), but no Mazda appears in the top 100?? I don't get the magazine, but can anyone say how that happens? - It's not as if they have 1000's of different models to dilute teh figures.

Reading that list, I have to say, I'm glad I would never let anything like that bias my car choice.
Plus, why are the Brava and Bravo so far apart? They almost the same car.

The What Car Survey seems to look purely at reliability, whereas the Top Gear Survey looks at owners satisfaction which are two rather different measures.
You can have a 100% reliable car that you are not satisfied with, and this will be reflected between the 2 surveys.

The top hundred list makes no sense to me.
No Hyundai, Seat, or Skoda models appear but the manufacturers are 6th, 12th and 9th respectively.
How do relatively rare cars like a Porsche Boxter appear in the list, yet Hyundai, Seat, or Skoda models as well as Toyota Yaris and Corolla are not in it?
The only Toyota is the old model Aventis. By what criteria do they judge Toyota are third if their bread and butter models are not included?

Enormous gap between Peugeot 406 and Citroen Xantia despite them being fundamentally the same car.
Hmmm. Rover 25 in top 3? Yet the Rover 200, literally the exact same car with a minor appearance-facelift, is right down at the bottom?

In a survey of 100 motorists, what was the number of them who replied their car was reliable?
Our survey says.....................
I think that sums it all up. It makes good editorial copy that sells something. It does not matter that it is accurate.
Any way it does give us something to talk about or be smug about.
