audi a6 temp sensor - audiA6tdi
i have a 1998 audi 1.8Tse A6. the temp sensor warning light was flashing red today. engine and oil temp are fine and car drives as normal. what do you think has gone - the temp sensor? and is this an expensive part to replace?

thanks

audi a6 temp sensor - audiA6tdi
ive been to a local garage today and they have hooked the car up to their computer and the error "throttle acctuator control unit P1559" has come up.
anybody any idea if this is an expensive part? he has suggested that i call audi and give them the error code and then get the necersary part then he will fit it.

causing a right pain as im meant to be selling the thing!

thanks

I am a little confused here!A fault on the throttle actuator will not cause a fault on the coolant light.Fault code P1559 may be an historic problem that may have occurred ages ago & not related to your current problem. If the car drives & idles ok get the garage to clean out throttle housing & reset idle adaption. The coolant warning lamp may indicate a water level or temp sensor fault.Btw a throttle actuator is about £300.
